L.L.Bean sells recreation equipment and clothing to prepare you for nearly any adventure in Maine. It also understands that you are likely to carry that gear into a community or remote corner of the state far from a major medical center. Recently, the Freeport-based company made a significant investment in LifeFlight of Maine to ensure that while you’re out there, you still have access to critical care in an emergency. LifeFlight of Maine would like to congratulate our Chief Operating Officer Bill Cyr, who was recently recognized with the award for Excellence in Transport Leadership from the Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS)! Bill knew from a young age that he wanted to build a career in transport medicine and honed his experience as an EMT, emergency department nurse, flight nurse, and eventually operations manager and program director for various air and ground transport organizations. Prior to joining LifeFlight in 2021, Bill gained valuable experience at UMass Memorial LifeFlight, Boston MedFlight, and Children’s Hospital Colorado. Congratulations Bill!

Our critical care teams routinely bring calm to chaos, giving patients their best chance on their worst day. We transport more than 2,500 people each year — 1 person every 3.5 hours on average — and we have cared for nearly 40,000 patients since 1998. On Valentine's Day, a LifeFlight crew was there for 25-year-old Roger Quehl, and it made all the difference. We spoke with Roger and his family about their LifeFlight story, because incidents like Roger's affect entire families and communities. There were more than 40 people at the scene of his accident trying to save his life. All of them carry that evening with them. Our mission is about more than just helicopters, and it takes all of us in Maine coming together to make this work. Find out how you can support our mission at https://lnkd.in/giGVzjND. A note to viewers: this video depicts Roger Quehl’s story and the LifeFlight team that saved his life after a major accident. While true to our mission, some of the content may not be appropriate for all viewers. A huge thank you to our friends and colleagues at Lone Spruce Creative who brought this project to life! #morethanjusthelicopters #therewhenyouneedus

We would like to officially welcome Flight Paramedic Tommy Gallant back to LifeFlight of Maine! Tommy has been with LifeFlight since 2019. He's also a member of the Maine Army National Guard. In January of 2023, he went on military leave to attend flight school in Alabama. Tommy recently finished his leave, and completed his reorientation with LifeFlight of Maine! Tommy says he's looking forward to "continuing to work with an amazing group of people and bring new and different experiences and knowledge to the organization," and that he's excited to be back! When he's not working, you can find Tommy hiking with his wife and dogs or boating in the summer. Thank you for your service, and we are so glad to have you back in Maine!
