Sinai Hospital's division of trauma hosted a dynamic, high-impact simulation exercise focused on the management of an injured pregnant trauma patient. The collaborative effort brought together an incredible team, including Baltimore County EMS, our simulation lab techs, general surgery residents, OB/GYN residents, NICU/pediatric residents, anesthesia, and nursing teams from the ED, L&D, OR and NICU. In this low volume/high risk scenario, our teams worked side-by-side to strengthen interdisciplinary communication, refine critical decision-making skills, and prepare for rare but life-threatening situations. The training highlighted the importance of seamless collaboration, hands-on experience and preparation for emergencies that require quick thinking and expert care. A huge thank you to everyone involved for your dedication to improving patient outcomes and enhancing our trauma response. The West Baltimore Renaissance Foundation, part of the LifeBridge Health family, has moved forward with a strategy to help address the addiction and health needs of seniors in West Baltimore. The strategy includes a partnership with LeadingAge Maryland, Civic Works, Inc., and Grace Medical Center to train the staff of affordable senior buildings, enhance access to health and addiction services and help connect seniors to benefits and other services.
