Lilly Ledbetter, a champion for equal pay and women’s rights, passed away at 86 from respiratory failure. Her advocacy began in the 1990s when she discovered she was paid significantly less than her male colleagues at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. Despite winning a gender discrimination lawsuit, the Supreme Court ruled against her in 2007 due to a statute of limitations. This led to the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009, signed by President Obama, which made it easier for victims of pay discrimination to seek justice. #LIFEsenior #equalpay
