The FDA has approved Ziihera, a groundbreaking bispecific antibody co-developed by Life Science Washington member Zymeworks Inc. and Jazz Pharmaceuticals, for the treatment of HER2-positive biliary tract cancer (BTC). Ziihera's unique binding profile enables multiple mechanisms of action, including dual blockade of HER2 signaling and the removal of HER2 proteins from cancer cell surfaces. Additionally, it boosts the immune system’s ability to combat cancer. Ziihera is the first and only dual HER2-targeted bispecific antibody approved in the US for HER2-positive BTC.
