There’s a lot of talk but not enough walk when it comes to revitalizing Detroit neighborhoods. Detroiters have all the talent they need, but many aren’t getting access to all the opportunities they deserve. Therefore, Life Remodeled repurposes vacant school buildings into one stop hubs of opportunity for entire families to thrive. We fill these iconic buildings with the best and brightest nonprofit organizations who are providing youth programs, workforce development, and human services to tens of thousands of students and community members. We help our nonprofit tenants collaborate and create far greater life transformation together than was previously possible alone. Together, we ensure: 1. Detroit students perform at/above grade level in math and reading 2. Families have access to essential health and wellness services 3. Community members obtain higher paying jobs and achieve economic self-sufficiency Each year Life Remodeled also repairs owner-occupied homes by providing hard-working families with the options to receive a new roof, furnace or windows free of charge, and we mobilize thousands of volunteers to remove blight and beautify several square miles in only six days.

?? Huge congratulations to our incredible Youth and Community Engagement Director, Stepha'N Quicksey, on receiving the Life Remodeled Community First Culture Award for Q3! Known affectionately as "Uncle Steph" by DIS students, Stepha'N had an exceptionally busy quarter, organizing not one but two successful community fairs at both the Durfee Innovation Society and Anchor Detroit. Thanks to his hard work and planning, over 500 families received free school supplies, food, resources, and more last quarter! Beyond the fairs, Stepha'N and his team are actively involved in several Detroit Public Schools on both the east and west sides, ensuring students have the resources they need for an amazing school year. You might have even spotted him on TV in multiple news interviews during the annual Six Day Project, sharing about Life Remodeled’s impact! ?? This year’s Trunk or Treat at the Durfee Innovation Society was a spook-tacular success! Over 400 community members joined us, along with 12 tenant organizations and 30 awesome trunkers. From start to finish, ghosts, goblins, and superheroes had a blast with music, face painting, carnival rides, and even some Mad Science experiments! ?? Huge congratulations to our Maintenance Supervisor, Haseebullah “Habib” Habibi, for receiving Life Remodeled’s Q3 “Bold Humility” Culture Award! ?? Last quarter, when a pipe burst caused flooding in the main hallway of the Durfee Innovation Society, Habib jumped into action. While staff and security informed tenants and blocked off the affected areas, Habib didn’t hesitate to wade through the water—push broom in hand—to guide the flood toward the drain and minimize damage. Thanks to his quick response, the situation was contained swiftly, and the hallway was back open in no time. Thank you, Habib, for embodying bold humility and dedication to our community.
