We do this by partnering with other nonprofits, schools, or organizations to create impactful resilience building programs for those we are privileged to serve. Our team is passionate about the healing power of intentionally designed outdoor adventures. We lead with curiosity and are tight-knit and mutually supportive place to work.

Life Adventure Center invites parents and caregivers to attend a Free Personal Wellness Workshop on October 21, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lexington Public Library’s Marksbury Family Branch located at 2197 Versailles Road. ? Facilitated by Julie Breitigan, Executive Director of Life Adventure Center, this supportive workshop will focus on managing stress and enhancing personal wellness. Parents will learn about the body’s response to stress, explore stress reduction techniques, and engage in a personal wellness reflection. The session will also identify opportunities for growth and improvement in navigating the challenges of parenting. ? Breitigan, who holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology, brings her expertise in stress management and mindful-based awareness, as well as her personal experience as a parent, to lead the workshop. Participants will benefit from her unique blend of clinical knowledge, life experience and practical wellness strategies. ? This workshop is made possible through the support of Face It and Kosair for Kids, organizations dedicated to ending child abuse and promoting the well-being of children and families. ? Life Adventure Center is happy to introduce Rachel Rubino as the latest addition to their team. Hailing from Winchester and a long-time Lexington resident, Rachel has a passion for building community and has an extensive background in event planning, the hospitality industry, and nonprofit work. After a stint at Asbury University in Wilmore, Rachel completed her undergraduate degree in English from the University of Kentucky. During her time working for the Kentucky Blood Center as a Donor Recruitment Specialist, she discovered the importance of community engagement, how one person choosing to step up can transform lives in a positive direction. While working for Transylvania University as the Special Events Director, Rachel successfully created new events to further the impact of Transy by establishing new, local partnerships. Rachel is joining L.A.C. as the new Philanthropy and Engagement Manager and will help expand awareness and build out key relationships for continued growth and development of the mission to use outdoor adventure in a trauma-informed setting to build resilience in diverse population groups. Rachel’s professional expertise and diverse background, combined with her personal commitment to encourage and empower others to become their most authentic selves, makes her a welcome addition to the team. Outside of the office, Rachel enjoys cooking new recipes, spoiling her six nieces and nephews, and continuing to work on the next great American novel. Julie Breitigan

We loved being a part of Common Good’s summer adventures!
Our youth had a ton of fun on our field trips this summer. They really lived into our “Ready, Set, Sweat” theme with swimming, roller skating, bowling, exploring at the Life Adventure Center, and hiking at the Arboretum, McConnell Springs, and Raven Run. We love all the adventures our students go on each summer. ??
