Lido DAO contributors aim for the highest industry standards to meet institutions' security expectations. ? Over $4M has been spent on security initiatives, including bug bounties, external expert reviews, and audits by some of the industry's well-known firms. Among these are Certora, Statemind, SigmaPrime, Chainsecurity, Mixbytes, Ackee Blockchain, Hexens, and Oxorio–all involved with testing protocol improvements and major upgrades during different stages of the evolution of the Lido protocol. At the same time, Lido protocol's open-source code nature enables continuous peer reviews and enhancements from developers and security researchers worldwide, reinforcing its resilience and robustness. ??To mitigate slashing and penalty risks, the following measures are in place: $17M discretionary provision (held as 6341 stETH) for incidents held within a Lido DAO treasury account. ??Geographical, infrastructural, and operational diversity across Europe, APAC, Africa, and the Americas, complemented with round-the-clock validator oversight by Node Operator teams. ??Globally distributed network of 500+ independent Node Operators running validators using the Lido protocol. ??Implementing new modules, utilizing bonding and Distributed Validator Technology to mitigate operational and technical risk related to validator operations by Node Operators.
