We're thrilled to announce that DexProtector, our mobile app protection solution, has been evaluated and approved by EMVCo for the 5th year in a row. If you've been following our posts for a while, you'll know that we're big believers in the concept of continuous security here at Licel. We're committed to keeping our products ahead of the curve, ensuring they can prevent even the most sophisticated attacks - including those super-powered by AI. And we know that our clients feel the same way. For them, it's reassuring to know the solution they rely on to protect their application has been evaluated against some of the most stringent security standards out there. Not just this year, but for the past five years. A big thank you to Applus+ Laboratories for once again performing the evaluation with their usual expertise and attention to detail. ?? Here's a trick to visualize the different anti-tampering mechanisms that your mobile app needs to protect itself: Imagine for a second that your application is your physical passport. Inside it are innovations like watermarks, hologram images, and unique ID numbering, to name but a few. But by far the most impressive anti-tampering measure inside your passport is the chip that is built into it, enabling quick and easy verification. The equivalent of the chip inside your passport within your mobile application would be a Virtual Trusted Execution Environment (vTEE). Read our article to find out how vTEEs work and why this technology is so vital to the future security of the digital payment industry: #vTEE #mobilepayments #digitalpayments https://lnkd.in/e-h3FXKa

Mental traps can make us behave irrationally. And the problem with irrational behavior is that it’s easily abused. Social engineers can use it to exploit us and our systems. In the 2020s our go-to system is the device that’s always in the corner of our eye, easily within reach. The device that constantly pings with tempting-looking notifications. #socialengineering #phishing https://lnkd.in/e6NnHcqJ

Can your smartphone replace traditional payment terminals safely? SoftPOS allows you to accept payments directly on your mobile device. This technology is rapidly transforming the payment sector by increasing competition and opportunities. However, unlike traditional card readers, mobile devices aren’t designed for secure payment acceptance. That’s where PCI MPoC regulations come into play. They define the essential security mechanisms that SoftPOS applications need to protect themselves. Our latest use case delves into the critical points of PCI MPoC, and demonstrates how our solutions not only ensure compliance but also enhance the security of your transactions. Looking to make your payment processing as secure as it is convenient? If so, take a read and find out how we can help: #SoftPOS #mobilepayments #mobilesecurity https://lnkd.in/e2PYSzkT

Attacks targeting mobile apps fall into one of two categories: There are attacks that aim to exploit the application directly; and there are attacks that aim to exploit the application's users. This is a useful way to begin to understand what needs protecting. We dive into this topic and explain in detail in this chapter of our guide to mobile application protection. #mobilesecurity #Android #iOS https://lnkd.in/e9brgzvR

The mobile wallets sector is growing rapidly, and is set to continue that trajectory as mobile ecosystems open up and there is increased competition. However, there are lots of compliance requirements wallet developers need to be aware of if they want to thrive in this space. In our mobile wallets use case, we take a deep dive into the two EMVCo security specifications that you need to be aware of. And we also explain how Licel’s security solutions can fast-track your own journey to EMVCo evaluation and approval. #mobilewallets #mobilepayments #mobilesecurity https://lnkd.in/e5zE7B5u

Earlier this year,?scammers tricked an employee of a Hong Kong bank into wiring $25 million to a bogus account. They achieved this via a video call, using deepfake versions of the CFO and other company stakeholders to convince the victim. It won't be the last attack to leverage AI in order to commit financial fraud. Indeed, we've noticed a rise in eKYC fraud in recent months, where scammers use similar techniques to bypass and abuse the eKYC verification process. Fortunately, there are things you can do to stop attacks like this, as we explain in this article: #ai #mobilebanking #mobilefraud https://lnkd.in/euM8j72a

The more sensitive that our digital transactions and operations have become, the more it makes sense for us to think of the mobile ecosystem as being split into two worlds: The?trusted?world, and the?untrusted?world. In our latest article, we explain how Trusted Applications (and the wider concept of trusted execution) can help bring security to untrusted devices. #mobilesecurity #Android #iOS https://lnkd.in/eDRdjR6x

Licel CEO, Ivan Kinash, looks back on some of the key mobile trends of 2024 and explores what they mean for the future of mobile channel security:
CEO, Co-founder of Licel - Powerful in-app protection/RASP/vTEE solutions and real-time threat tracking for Android, iOS and Java platforms. jCardSim - de facto standard for Java Card applet development and testing.
As 2024 draws to a close, I wanted to look back on some tech and security trends that have shaped this year. In the article below, I make a case for these apparently distinct trends being connected to one another, and I ask a few questions that we need to collectively find answers to in 2025. I hope you enjoy reading it. Have a peaceful holiday period and I wish you all a very happy new year! #2025trends #cybersecurity #payments #ai*
