We had another successful #RecyclingRoundup in Grainger County, TN, last month! We teamed up with the county’s Department of Sanitation to collect 179 tires from community members. By removing these end-of-life tires from the waste stream, we prevent them from entering local landfills and illegal dump sites. Instead, the recycled rubber finds new life as innovative, sustainable products for retail and commercial applications. Our thanks to everyone who came out to support this community cleanup effort! #DrivingAGreenerTomorrow

Some congratulations are in order in Alabama! Several state agencies received a national award for their innovative use of rubber modified asphalt in paving projects at three state parks. Representatives from the Alabama State Parks, Alabama Department of Environmental Management, and the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources were presented with the Leadership in Conservation and Sustainability Award?by the Rubberized Asphalt Foundation at the National Association of State Park Directors Conference last month. The collective efforts of these organizations resulted in the reuse of more than 19,000 end-of-life tires in paving roads and parking lots at State Parks across Alabama. Improving our energy efficiency is a key goal in our commitment to accelerate environmental stewardship. We have committed to improving the energy efficiency of our U.S. operations by 25% by 2032. To accomplish this, we formed a Manufacturing Excellence Team to increase efficiency, decrease consumption and develop best practices to measure and manage our energy usage. We actively pursue opportunities to source more clean and renewable energy for our facilities. In 2023, on-grid renewables accounted for over 15% of our total energy usage. An integral goal of our #ESG strategy is zero waste by 2030: ensuring every tire that we collect will enter an end-use market. We are pleased to report great progress toward this goal between our 2022 and 2023 ESG reports. We collected more tires and disposed of less waste material increasing our utilization rate from 74.4% in 2022 to 78.4% in 2023. We’ve achieved this progress by developing new markets, collaborating and innovating with industry partners, and piloting more efficient processes in our operations. We’re proud of our Liberty Tire Recycling team in British Columbia for participating in a huge #RecyclingRoundup event in Kelowna earlier this month. Working together with Tire Stewardship BC and Duka Environmental Services Ltd. we collected over 1,400 end-of-life tires for recycling. These events are integral in diverting tires from landfills and illegal dump sites, maintaining the health and beauty of surrounding communities. Thank you for #DrivingAGreenerTomorrow with us!
