In 2021, after tragic incidents of gender-based violence took the lives of two valued colleagues in Puerto Rico and Barbados, Liberty Latin America created our first workplace policy to combat gender-based violence and support the victims. By implementing it across all markets, we have committed to educating, preventing, protecting and supporting our employees and communities against gender-based violence. We begin the #16DaysOfActivism by urging other companies to join the fight against gender violence by creating educational spaces and developing their own internal policies. As part of the 27th Golf Invitational Tournament, Liberty Foundation donated $650,000 to 32 nonprofit organizations in Puerto Rico and the USVI. Our Retail Team joined forces to give back to our communities during Liberty Latin America‘s Mission Week. With the support of Liberty Business, they donated over 600 art supplies, valued at more than $1,500, to Liga de Arte de San Juan. This educational entity provides art classes to children, young people, and adults, helping them develop their potential to the fullest. To further strengthen ties with nonprofit organizations supported by Liberty Foundation, colleagues from Liberty Puerto Rico's human resources department (People) recently visited the Casita Familiar Virgilio Dávila. This organization provides educational and recreational services to students from the Virgilio Dávila public housing community in Bayamón during after-school hours.
