Argenio Bros Inc Bros of New Windsor, New York led by project manager Alfie Bockenmuhl set the three-sided culvert that passes under Route 299 in the Town of Lloyd. This is a very involved project as Route 299 carries a heavy traffic load and is a vital link from the Village of New Paltz to Route 9W. It also provides access to the New York State Thruway. The NYSDOT project called for nearly 98 linear feet of three-sided culvert set on precast foundations. The three-sided spans were 5’-0” in width with a 5’-0” rise. These were cast and cured at LHV PRECAST INC in Kingston, NY. Joe Murphy of LHV PRECAST INC provided estimates and assisted in the design. Precast concrete engineering and design was provided by Ronald Thornton PE of Concrete Engineering Solutions. Transportation to the site was provided by BORWEGEN TRANSPORT LLC. Olori Crane provided crane services. The unique nature of the project provided a training opportunityforo NYSDOT summer interns and engineers to watch the project unfold.

LHV PRECAST INC recently manufactured and delivered a culvert for the Greene County Highway Department. The culvert was located in the Town of Jewett crossing Route 23 C and routing Town House Brook. The culvert had a 14’-0” span and 5’-0” rise. These were built and set in 6 6’-8” lay lengths. The set crew was from A. Colarusso and Son of Hudson, New York led by Project Manager Michael Malchow. Precast engineering was performed by Tamer Osman, P.E Osman of Fisher Associates. LHV PRECAST INC bidding and project development was handled by Joseph Murphy. Trucking was performed by BORWEGEN TRANSPORT LLC of Greenville, NY.

And with some final touches it is completed. The Town of Ulster Wastewater Department and Tam Enterprises completed the installation, hook up and final grading for the new Trojan Technologies Trojan 3000 plus Ultraviolet disinfectant system. The system houses 22 racks with 88 ultraviolet lamps. The system will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Town of Ulster Wastewater treatment plant. The system is designed to reduce the cost of maintenance and lamp replacement. The new system does not require any special tools to exchange lamps. The lamps are guaranteed for 12,000 hours of operation and can be replaced in less than three minutes per lamp. The modules are electrically separate, allowing for a single module to be removed without disrupting flow or taking the system offline. The system is housed in a 42’ long precast channel manufactured by LHV PRECAST INC of Kingston, NY. The attached photos show the final grade having been completed. Gratings manufactured by Ohio Grating are installed at the top of the structure. The Trojan 3000 Plus bulbs have been installed and are operational. Stone Strong Systems retaining walls are not just for large commercial and municipal projects. They can be used to enhance your residential projects as well. LHV PRECAST INC Precast has smaller molds to fit these needs. The smaller molds are available in Chiseled Granite, Tennessee Foothill and Fractured Ledge patterns as well. The smaller size blocks are easier to handle for landscaping contractors. In this residential single-family home project, the blocks were used to complete the driveway and the front and back decks. . The contractor, KC & Sons bult this land bridge with culvert through a low point on the property to create a driveway serving two neighboring parcels. As a part of the house the blocks were used for the front and rear porch. This saved on the cost of lumber and once the concreate pads are in place the homeowner will be able to enjoy the deck without worrying about staining the wood in the coming years.
