Today we spotlight: Marie Reid Project Manager Lorraine Gregory Communications Marie Reid is a seasoned project management professional with over 20 years of experience, bringing strategic vision and operational brilliance in all her assignments. She has explored various positions in business management, sales, and higher education, leading to her current role as Project Manager at Lorraine Gregory Communications - a job that fills her life with cooperation, problem-solving, and delivering successful outcomes for clients. Marie’s journey has been defined by continuous growth and innovation. From developing company-wide CRM systems to creating sales programs and training teams, she has played a pivotal part in improving efficiency efforts. She studied Criminal Justice at Farmingdale State College, complementing her expertise in forensic psychology and criminal law, and is currently pursuing her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Beyond her professional work, Marie is passionate about advocacy and mentorship. As a past member of the Junior League of Martin County, she supported nonprofit initiatives focused on public education, fundraising, and community service. She is also deeply committed to personal development, constantly expanding her expertise and refining her skills. Outside the office, Marie prioritizes a holistic and active lifestyle. A dedicated Peloton rider and fitness enthusiast, she finds energy and discipline through daily workouts. She also loves cooking, traveling with her family, and cheering on her son at his sports games. For Women’s History Month, LGC is exploring extraordinary women within our community. Today we spotlight: Teresa Ferraro President/CEO East/West Industries Inc., USA Teresa Ferraro is the President/CEO of East/West Industries, an SBA-certified WOSB/WBE (Woman-Owned Small Business/Women’s Business Enterprise) located in Ronkonkoma, NY. East/West has over 55 years of dedicated service in the design, development and manufacturing of aircraft seating systems and other critical components for military aircraft crew safety in both fixed and rotary wing aircraft. Teresa has a 40 plus-year track record of success, providing fiscal, strategic, and operational leadership at the rapidly growing company her parents founded in 1968. Known for her exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to resolve complex challenges, she motivates staff to peak performance. Over the last eight years, she has led East/West’s most significant expansion, including a move to a new facility and an expansion that increased the company’s footprint by 50% and nearly doubled its workforce. Her leadership has built strong business ties with major aerospace and defense contractors like Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Sikorsky, and Northrop Grumman. Teresa has played a pivotal role in East/West’s achievements, including being named Boeing Supplier of the Year in 2018. Additionally, East/West has earned the Boeing Performance Excellence Award as a Gold Level Supplier for eight consecutive years and was recently recognized by Northrop Grumman for Supplier Excellence as a top supplier partner for excelling in cost, schedule, and quality. Personally, she has received numerous accolades, including the Leroy R. Grumman Award from the Cradle of Aviation Museum for East/West’s legacy of technical achievement in aerospace on Long Island and the Harriet Quimby Award for advancing women in aviation. East/West was recognized with the HIA-LI Business Achievement Award for its commitment to hiring veterans transitioning to civilian life. Teresa has also received Leadership Awards from Hofstra University Army ROTC and Moxxie Mentoring Foundation, a women’s mentoring organization. East/West strengthens its commitment to education and mentorship through a STEM Badge Program with Girl Scouts of Suffolk County, introducing young women to STEM in business. Lorraine Gregory Communications From mergers and acquisitions to entrepreneurial success and strategic marketing leadership, Kim has built a career grounded in growth, innovation, and results. Her journey began in investment banking in Chicago, specializing in sell-side advisory before transitioning to Verizon’s Global Strategy Group. There, she evaluated acquisition targets and investments across industries like cloud technology, healthcare, and education, honing her expertise in M&A and venture capital. Kim then founded Axle Eight, a boutique digital marketing agency focused on paid media, SEO, content marketing, social media, and email marketing. Under her leadership, the agency grew into a successful firm known for delivering measurable results for its clients, ultimately leading to its acquisition by LGC. Now at LGC, she applies her experience to help onboard new companies seeking creative, data-driven marketing solutions. Kim holds an MBA from Loyola University Chicago, a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Arizona, and a Master's Certificate in Strategy and Negotiation from Harvard University. Her accomplishments have earned her recognition as “Woman of the Year” by The BIG Business Awards and one of Inc.
