Therefore, we have launched the LGBTQ+?History?Month?Fundraiser for the Community Center?with an ambitious goal of?$15,000 over 15 days?in honor of 15 years of operation as a 501c3 nonprofit. We also aim to have 15 new recurring donors, 15 donations from current and former volunteers, and 15 donations from current and former program participants. Workplace Options partnership and support of LGBT Center of Raleigh! Workplace Options (WPO) partnered with the?LGBT Center of Raleigh?to provide a home for the Center while the organization’s building undergoes renovation. WPO has been an active supporter and advocator for the LGBT Center of Raleigh for more than a decade. In the past, the collaboration between WPO and the Center has focused on the promotion of Out! Raleigh Pride (previously known as just Out! Raleigh), beginning with the first Out! Raleigh event in 2012. During the past few years, the LGBT Center of Raleigh, a nonprofit organization that serves, empowers, and advocates for the wellbeing of diverse LGBTQ+ communities, has moved several times. When WPO learned about the Center’s current situation, Alan King, President and CEO, Workplace Options, invited the organization to move to a WPO office. “WPO and the LGBT Center of Raleigh share much more than office space. Our organizations are aligned in a shared mission and vision,” said King. “WPO and the Center are committed to empowering every person to be their authentic self in every aspect of their life. ?? Thursday, June 27th, marks a historic milestone as we held our first Pride Walk and concluded our Pride Month activities! ?? I’m incredibly honored to have spoken to everyone about the profound importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and the critical role of belonging. Diversity is not just a buzzword; it’s a catalyst for innovation and growth. When we embrace our unique differences and create an inclusive environment where everyone feels they belong, we unlock the full potential of our teams. Belonging fosters a sense of purpose, commitment, and mutual respect, paving the way for a more collaborative and vibrant workplace. Our Pride Walk was a testament to our collective commitment to these values. It celebrates love, acceptance, and the beautiful spectrum of human identities. It reminds us that every voice matters and that we are stronger together. We were proud to invite our neighbors in RTP from Cisco, Biogen, NetApp, and Altria. Friends, family, and kids walked with us as well. It was indeed a community coming together! The Pride Walk was the culmination of a fantastic Pride Month at Lenovo. The Lenovo PRIDE ERG set the standard for Pride Month in the future this year, too! We raised our Progress Flag on campus at the beginning of June. Then, Lenovo PRIDE facilitated programs each week on topics like the origin and importance of Pride Month, inclusive benefits, and the availability of onsite care from Lenovo Benefits and our onsite health team at Marathon Health, community resources with the LGBT Center of Raleigh, and LGBTQ Center of Durham. We ended the series with a powerful presentation from some brave speakers sharing their experiences, good and bad, in our "Courageous Conversations: The LGBTQ+ Experience." Then, we ended Pride Month with a bang with the Pride Walk. Thank you to everyone who participated and to those who continue to champion the cause of diversity and inclusion every day. As Pride Month concludes, we look back on efforts made by organizations in our area to support and uplift LGBTQ+ communities. This year, we emphasized Habitat Wake's dedication to being an inclusive organization and supporting affordable housing for people of all backgrounds through volunteer build days, community outreach and networking events. ???????
