Nearly?2 million American adults?identify as transgender, according to a 2023 survey by KFF and the?The Washington Post, just under 1 percent of adults as a whole. That's 2M American's identities that are being directly erased by the multiple executive orders Trump has signed. This is an assault on the people he is elected to govern. ?? With social media spaces like Meta changing their content policies to allow hate speech to our community, creating safe space like Lex is even more important. Lex is the social app for the LGBTQ+ community, where queer people can express themselves, have fun and belong. ?? Why do these new policy changes matter? Because according to GLAAD, a nonprofit advocacy organization for LGBTQ+ representation in media "rhetoric and disinformation on social media translates to real-world offline harms."
