A paradigm shift indeed, where "82% of UK lawyers have adopted generative AI or have plans in?motion" . . . and because by most measures, UK lawyers are far outpacing those in the US. https://lnkd.in/ehMezdfV

30 minutes of daily time savings is a start. Reducing costs is great. AI-assisted, volume-oriented ”legal process centres” are certainly an interesting move. Capitalism? Fine. But might we suggest that our dear outside counsel consider a slightly less carnivorous competitive approach? https://lnkd.in/eMiyZXe4

GenAI adoption speed > cloud adoption speed. Yet cloud tech is often a prerequisite to adoption of GenAI solutions.
An EverLaw survey found that legal professionals are adopting Gen AI much faster than cloud technology. Ella Sherman digs into the survey, and looks at why today's modern lawyers are more welcoming to both Gen AI and cloud storage. More on Legaltech News: https://lnkd.in/gEhP_JzB

Someone please build an AI tool to rule all the other AI tools. In all seriousness, we're all for a collaborative approach prioritizing safety, security and business value. We love: ?? that legal departments themselves are pushing for clarity, and ?? the notion of CLOs moving from gatekeepers to change leaders. Thanks to Deloitte Legal for this insightful report, in which major clients provided their views on AI's impact on legal teams. Takeaways: ?? Respondents are generally ambitious, predicting high adoption in the short term. ???? AI is expected to have the most transformative impact on document review and data extraction, within the context of contracts and commercial matters as well as legal operations. ?? For legal departments, it will be critical to focus on: thoughtful governance; broad rollouts for experimentation with the right training and feedback; evaluation of use cases and POC testing, by leaning on external partners; data hygiene for more data utility; and long-term planning for safety, skills accounting, and resourcing.
