Four New Associates Join LT in Memphis: Christina Guyton graduated from the University of Alabama, magna cum laude, in Communication and Information Sciences and Dance in 2020 and The University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphrey’s School of Law in 2024. Guyton was previously a Judicial Intern for the Tennessee Court of Appeals in Jackson, Tennessee. She was the recipient of CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Bar Exam Writing Fundamentals, the Faculty Advisor Award for Student Note Excellence, Memphis Law Review, and Top 10 Oral Advocate, First Year Moot Court Competition. Rachel McCallister graduated from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2022 where she was a Graduate Research Assistant to both Dean Kate Schaffzin and Professor Lynda Black. Before joining Lewis Thomason, McCallister was a Junior Law Clerk to the Honorable Chief Justice Holly Kirby of the Tennessee Supreme Court and an extern to the esteemed Judge Bernice B. Donald. Marshall McComas is a 2022 graduate of the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. He holds undergraduate degrees in Political Science and History from the University of Arkansas and the University of Mississippi, respectively. McComas previously worked as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable M. Ruthie Hagan of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Tennessee. Prior to law school, McComas served four and a half years on active duty with the United States Army’s 82nd Airborne Division, deploying once to Kandahar, Afghanistan as an Airborne Infantry Fire Team Leader in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. Kathleen Spight graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2019 and the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2024. She was the recipient of the Benjamin L. Hooks and Memphis Access and Diversity Law Scholarships. During law school she was a Graduate Assistant for the Tennessee Institute for Pre-Law, a Peer Mentor, and Treasurer of the Student Bar Association. Ally Bojczuk earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in 2021 and her Juris Doctor from Belmont University College of Law in 2024. At Notre Dame, Ally was a Division 1 student-athlete on the women’s tennis team, where she served as team captain in her senior year. While at Belmont College of Law, Bojczuk dedicated over 100 hours to pro bono service, earning the Pro Bono Award for her community contributions. Bojczuk is focusing her practice on transportation law. Claire Heflin graduated summa cum laude from DePaul University, where she was consistently recognized on the Dean’s List and participated in both the Honors Liberal Studies and Honors Business Management Programs, and University of Tennessee College of Law, where she graduated in 2024. Throughout law school, Claire was an active member of the Law Women organization, advocating for women in the legal profession. Heflin is focused on business and intellectual property matters as well as general civil litigation. Brayden Jackson graduated magna cum laude from Trevecca Nazarene University, where he played basketball and earned the GMAC Academic All-Conference Award, as well as the prestigious Presidential Scholarship. At Belmont University College of Law, he was awarded a Bruin Scholarship and actively contributed to the Entertainment Law Society, the Mercchandising Committee, and the CMA EDU Leadership Program, strengthening his experience in representing entertainers and athletes. Jack Pickel graduated magna cum laude from Auburn University in 2021 and the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2024. During his time at UT Law, he was honored with the prestigious Judge L. The NSSCW helps over 300 administrators, teachers, police chiefs, first responders, safety professionals, and community leaders to identify and share best practices concerning school safety and help model a community process to prevent school violence. Lewis Thomason was a proud sponsor of the UT Law Women’s 19th Annual Chili Cook-Off recently held at the University of Tennessee College of Law. The Cook-Off raises funds for the Law Women Commitment Award and Public Interest Scholarships for UT Law students. The UT Law Executive Board will be able to award three Public Interest Scholarships to their members thanks to raising over $6,700 through the Cook-Off this year. These scholarships will allow three law students to pursue unpaid public interest work next summer with reduced financial burdens, while the Commitment Award will help a Law Women member offset academic expenses such as textbooks and living expenses. https://lnkd.in/gnpFjdcm

Shareholder Chuck Cagle recently presented Employee Rights and Responsibilities Under State and Federal Law and the Employee Handbook to the Nashville First Baptist Church staff. Chuck is past chair of First Baptist’s Personnel Committee and past chair of the Deacons. He currently serves as counsel to the church. Chuck frequently speaks to places of worship on legal issues affecting them, and he was appointed to the Tennessee Baptist Convention (TBC) Sexual Abuse Task Force due to his experience handling similar claims within school systems and in ethics and public policy matters.
