Meet Owner/Operator Alvin Hinton! ?? Where were you born and raised? Tell us a little about yourself. Well, I was born and raised in Columbia, SC. Growing up I ran track, and played football. I also worked on race cars and raced them in my spare time. Now, I like to go hunting, fishing, and spend time with my grandkids. How long have you been in the trucking industry, and what made you start trucking in the first place? I’ve been trucking for too long, 40 years to be exact. I had gone to college on a full scholarship for track and then when my dad got sick, I came home and started working at Pepsi driving a small truck. The guys would come in and leave their trucks on the yard and a guy asked me could I move a 5 speed Mack. So, I figured If I can drive an actual tractor with a trailer hooked to it, I should be able to move that truck with a trailer and I did. While I was with Pepsi, I spent a few years in the National Guard off and on, but I always had trucking, and was able to make money on my own. What advice would you give to drivers just starting out? I would say be courteous to other drivers you share the road with, and learn the ropes with an older driver. They can tell you what trucking was like back in the day and we need a bit more of that. He is going to teach you to know you truck and what it can do. What is your favorite thing about LTL? Everybody is friendly. We are all like a family, and I like that. What are 3 words to describe you? Easy going, friendly, funny What keeps you motivated? Life - my family and my grandbabies. Thank you so much Alvin for taking time out to talk with us! We hope you enjoy your birthday today, and take it easy!

Meet Roc & Roxy! ?? Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where were you born and raised? I was born and raised in Marion, SC also known as Swamptown! I have a very passionate wife whom I adore, she has a lot to put up with far as me and our two amazing kids. Any extra free time I have, you can find me in the barbershop cutting someone’s hair, or on the football field with my son. I always say I am a trucker for life and a barber on the side. How long have you been in the trucking industry, and what made you start trucking in the first place? I have been trucking for 11 years, but if you ask my mom, she would say I started driving when I was 3 years old. I really think that is when I found my passion for trucking, I just didn’t know it at the time. I grew up around trucking, my dad was a truck driver and he always wanted me to be a truck driver. Of course, I thought I knew more than him, but I finally started to listen to him in 2013 and start my career in trucking. What is your advice to drivers just starting out? Do the right thing, slow down and take your time. Be patient no matter what. What is your favorite thing about LTL? LTL always keeps me moving, and they are consistent. They always keep a dollar in my pocket. Describe yourself in three words. R - Respectful O - Outgoing C - Caring What keeps you motivated? Truthfully money. It makes me work hard. It’s why I am a trucker and a barber, I love to work, make money, and be able to spend time with my family. Tell us about Roxy! Roxy is an 18-month American bully mix, and she’s a bougie little thing. She’s either riding by my ankles all day or playing with her best friend Bentley. She loves to get her nails done once a month, but absolutely hates the cold or rain. She won’t even go outside if its raining in her raincoat! Last question, what’s the story about your truck’s name? So my truck, The Equalizer, is named after my dad. My dad’s CB Handle was the Equalizer, so I named it after him. My dad worked here at LTL for 19 years until the day he passed away. He was the best, always joking around and being a comedian. Dad said The Equalizer always gets the job done, and he was right.
