Last week, TLG’s teams met up at the 2025 firm retreat in Arizona for some strategic and tactical planning and training, hiking, trivia games, epic golf, pickleball, and fun together. It was a huge success including because no one stepped on or was bitten by a rattlesnake. Our work is a team sport, so this valuable time together makes us even stronger. Thanks to everyone who planned, coordinated, presented, moderated, and, as always, left it all on the field.?

Last week, TLG's clients –?a?group of more than 30,000?LGBTQ+ U.S. Veterans discharged under the discriminatory “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (“DADT”) policy and similar earlier policies -- reached a historic settlement agreement in their class-action lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Defense, leading to the upgrade of?their discharge status to "Honorable" and securing long-overdue justice for those who so bravely served our country.? ? TLG is honored to have supported these courageous?Veterans alongside the amazing legal team led by Jocelyn Larkin, Lindsay Nako, Lori Rifkin, Fawn Rajbhandari-Korr, and Meredith Dixon of the Impact Fund; Elizabeth Kristen and Lynnette Miner of Legal Aid at Work; David Willingham, Radha Manthe, and Rachel Yeung of King & Spalding; and Chelsea Corey of Haynes and Boone, LLP. Journalists and journalism across the globe face mounting threats in their efforts to spotlight the truth. It is more important than ever to honor their sacrifices and ensure press freedom stands as a firm pillar of democracies into the future. ? Today’s progress by the Fallen Journalists Memorial Foundation?in the fight for freedom of the press is so exciting: we are unveiling the design concept for what will be first memorial on the National Mall dedicated to journalists who have lost their lives as they have worked tirelessly for press freedom and to cover the truth, no matter how difficult the circumstances. ? TLG is honored to continue to advise FJMF. We are especially grateful to our team members Kylie Munnelly, Abbie McDonough, Zak Sawyer, Kristen Blomstrom, Molly Eisner, and Mikaela Dredden for their hard work and dedication to this project and look forward to the next steps toward realizing the memorial!?
BIG NEWS – we are thrilled to unveil the first images of the innovative, all-glass design concept for the Fallen Journalists Memorial. Developed by John Ronan Architects and inspired by journalists around the globe, the design concept’s transparent, solid glass elements symbolize the work of journalists as they shine a light on the truth. Once completed and approved by the National Park Service, the memorial will be the first in the nation’s capital made almost entirely of glass – reflecting the critical importance of press freedom and honoring those journalists who have lost their lives in service to that cause. Check out the first images of the memorial’s design concept, here:?https://lnkd.in/e4VHWvb8
