    President - Homewatch Caregivers of Charlotte & Mooresville

    Homewatch CareGivers are proud to work with our friends at the Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Charlotte. We recently sponsored an enrichment program which provided a wonderful history of music and culture in the US. I think I may have enjoyed it as much as anyone as I learnt a lot about Cab Calloway, Stevie Wonder and Elvis :) Thank you to Jill Lipson and her team for the opportunity to help, and the kindness and wonderful environment they consistently create. The Oasis program does a significant amount of work in the local community and provide a variety of programs for adults 60+. The OASIS program is a daytime enrichment program where independent adults 60+ come for physical, intellectual, and social stimulation. Oasis offers the opportunity for adults to be with others for programming, lunch, and special activities. The mission of Oasis is to enrich and prolong the quality of life for adults 60 and older from the greater Charlotte area, regardless of religious affiliation. Oasis is the only 60+ enrichment program in the area that provides transportation on a case-by-case basis. Thank you Jill Lipson and team for all that you do to help support an serve the Charlotte community.

    Moore & Van Allen (MVA) Financial Restructuring Member Gabriel Mathless has been appointed President of the Levine Jewish Community Center Board of Directors, effective January 1. Gabriel has served on the Levine JCC’s Board of Directors since 2015. The Levine Jewish Community Center is a dynamic, family-oriented facility that fosters a strong sense of community and belonging. With a state-of-the-art fitness center, expansive athletic fields and courts, diverse sports programs for all ages, and enriching cultural arts activities, the Levine JCC provides a welcoming space to stay active, build connections, and engage in meaningful experiences. Among its vital community programs, the Levine JCC's OASIS program provides vital enrichment for adults 60 and older, offering physical, intellectual, and social activities with transportation support—the only such program in the Charlotte area serving older adults regardless of religious affiliation. Since 2008, the Levine JCC has participated in The Butterfly Project, where participants paint ceramic butterflies representing the 1.5 million children lost in the Holocaust. This art-based memorial program educates about the dangers of hatred while promoting empathy and hope. https://lnkd.in/etYn3MTu
