We're excited to announce the results of our annual Pre-Holiday Retail Sentiment Survey – and it’s looking like a strong season ahead! Despite inflation concerns, our retailers are feeling optimistic, with many expecting strong sales and increased consumer engagement in the weeks to come. Here’s what we found: Retailer Optimism: 66.4% of retailers are feeling positive, with nearly two-thirds expecting sales to match or exceed last year’s levels. Consumer Spending: Holiday spending is forecasted to hit record levels, averaging $902 per person. Peak Sales Shifts: Only 35% of retailers anticipate peak sales around Black Friday, while 20.5% expect the highest traffic the weekend before Christmas. Inflation Impact: Inflation remains top of mind, with 32% of retailers planning increased sales and discounts to attract shoppers. Convenience & Experience: Retailers are stepping up with enhanced in-store services, loyalty programs, same-day delivery, and online purchasing options. Notably, 62.5% offer online purchase or order pick-up. Brick-and-Mortar Strength: Physical stores are thriving by providing in-person customer service, product discovery, and instant gratification—key factors that resonate with holiday shoppers.
