Not Selected in the H-1B Lottery? We know that the H-1B visa is a popular nonimmigrant visa for those seeking employment in the United States. Unfortunately, this visa’s popularity typically results in many more applications per fiscal year than the annual quota allowed by U.S. immigration law. To deal with this problem, a large portion of those applications must first pass through a lottery system, which randomly selects from the total pool of applications whatever number is thought to be necessary to fill the annual quota. In this new blog post we'll cover alternatives to the H-1B visa. We'll work with you and your employer to uncover your next steps. Click here to learn more about your options if not selected in the H-1B lottery. #h1bvisa #visasforemployers #immigrationattorney #sanfranciscoimmigrationattorney

The 2024 summer travel season is upon us. Many foreign nationals are anticipating a long-awaited journey to the United States to reunite with family and friends or to visit some of our iconic landmarks. Others are preparing for a new educational or job opportunity. Some are planning to come in the short term, and some are hoping to immigrate permanently. Foreign nationals already in the U.S. are also planning to travel back to their home countries to see family and friends in person rather than through Zoom, FaceTime, etc. Many of these travelers have already submitted their applications for the immigrant or nonimmigrant visa they need, but have not yet received a decision from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Some may have received their decision but discovered that their visa application has been refused. In this blog we will discuss both of these situations and what can or cannot be done about them. We will then briefly discuss some common mistakes to avoid, which will help give better prospects for any future visa application attempts.
