Boston Society for Architecture hosts an annual Design Award Gala to recognize architectural excellence in New England and around the world. The Awards Gala is a celebration of architecture and the power it has to shape our future and strengthen our communities. Level Studio Architecture received an Environmental Impact Advancement Commendation for our Electric Oasis project in the Unbuilt Planning and Design category. As we continue to establish our offices in New York and New England, we are honored to be recognized by the vibrant AEC community of Boston. A recent article in the #newyorktimes explains how leading museums are removing Native American displays due to new federal rules. It seems we are at the beginning of a long overdue reassessment of the ethics behind displaying cultural artifacts. The Level Studio Architecture team thought it was important to weigh in on this to discuss the importance of cultural respect, Indigenous rights, representation and inclusion, educational value, ethical responsibility, and evolving legal compliance issues.
