Today LEVEL 20 SPAIN member Yolanda Falcón García portfolio director at Xesgalicia together with fellow investors Carmen Pumari?o from Zubi Capital and Patricia Gonzalez Gomez from ABANCA hosted a panel led by Loreto Fernández at Universidad de Santiago de Compostela to provide an overview of what having a career in venture capital means especially for women. At LEVEL 20 SPAIN we continue to focus our outreach efforts on young students so they have a better understanding about the private equity and venture capital industry. Providing visibility and showing how women can play a key role is key to attract more women to our industry. Our latest research published today reveals nearly one in four investors in Europe are now women - with an overall increase of women in senior roles across the industry. Level 20's European Gender Diversity Report 2024: Women working in European Private Equity & Venture Capital,?looks at 13 of Level 20’s European chapter countries. It shows an optimistic picture across geographies, but progress is less linear when compared against seniority, AUM bands and strategies. Never thought I would be savouring Level 20 like this!

At LEVEL 20 SPAIN we are working to help women get to senior roles in the industry so that diverse teams can make better investment decisions. The data shows there is still work to be done. It is always amazing to see the buzz around South Summit in Madrid. Last Friday we talked about diversity at the growth stage with LEVEL 20 SPAIN mentee Teresa Pastor Alonso and mentor Alberto Bermejo We also hosted a breakfast for Level 20 members. We still have work to do so we hopefully don't need to talk about women investors but only about investors. It is always great to bring men into the conversation and talk about the role of mentors and sponsors in our industry.
