So the 'angel investing as retail therapy' pipeline hasn't stopped. Our Thursday Deal Drop email on Play Money! had a ?? 72% open rate?!?! The company? Their solution helps customers increase ROI from serving their highest utilizers: people experiencing homelessness. Their customers are insurance companies and hospitals. 3 years in on angel and i still wake up everyday excited to be a small part of what Somer Baburek, MBA and her team at Hera Biotech are building. I pulled from my investing budget, my social impact budget, and a bit from my shopping budget to write a larger than normal angel check into this one because the science is breakthrough, this a top 5 problem I want to see solved in the world....and this ?? drop moment in her pitch was legendary. This was also the deal that showed me that 'who is in the room writing the checks' makes ALL the difference.
