?? Where It All Started: Our First Solar Install in 2011! ??? In 2011, we climbed onto a rooftop in Haiti, wiring up a small solar system for the Notre Dame Filariasis Residence—a home for medical volunteers dedicating their time to serving others. Many of these volunteers were nurses and doctors who came after the 2010 earthquake and worked to combat lymphatic filariasis. It wasn’t our biggest install, but it meant everything. That small system kept the lights on, powered fans in the sweltering heat, and ensured volunteers had a stable place to prepare for their life-saving work. This was our first step, laying the foundation for one of our biggest pillars: Solar for Health. Because energy isn’t just about power—it’s about people. From that first install to today, one thing has never changed: our commitment to sharing the power of the sun with those who need it most. And we’re just getting started. ???

Amazing work by the Wood Mackenzie team! For four years, Let's Share The Sun has partnered with Wood Mackenzie to bring solar energy to families in Puerto Rico. This year, the impact grew—providing power to those with critical health needs and educating students in Adjuntas. Reliable energy is more than convenience—it’s a lifeline. Huge thanks to the volunteers making a difference! Learn more & support: https://okt.to/QE1eua"
Last week, a team of incredible WoodMackers were on the ground in Puerto Rico, continuing our mission with Let's Share The Sun Foundation to bring reliable energy to those who need it most. This year, we focused on expanding energy access for families with critical health challenges, ensuring those who rely on medical devices and refrigerated medications have a stable, secure power source. In a region where outages are frequent, having reliable solar energy is more than just convenience—it’s a lifeline. By installing solar panels on these homes, our team helped provide families with greater security, independence, and peace of mind. For the first time, our volunteers also had the opportunity to share their knowledge of renewable energy with students at a local elementary school in Adjuntas. Through interactive workshops, students explored how solar power can transform communities like theirs—an exciting new step in the evolution of this partnership. Four years in, this collaboration continues to grow—what started with solar installations is now expanding into education, awareness, and deeper community engagement.
