Ambulatory detox is an outpatient detoxification program designed for individuals with substance use disorders. Unlike inpatient detox, ambulatory detox allows patients to receive treatment while continuing to live at home and maintain their daily routines. This approach provides a structured and supervised detox process without the need for hospitalization or overnight stays. It offers flexibility, cost savings, and the ability to maintain personal and professional responsibilities while undergoing detoxification. Leora Behavioral Health provides a structured experience for outpatient withdrawal management, where our patients will be monitored during this process to ensure comfortability. We had the opportunity to share our mission and facility with Troy Smith. Troy Smith is a former American football quarterback, Heisman Trophy winner, Ohio State legend, and mental health advocate! We are deeply grateful to Troy for visiting our facility and sharing his powerful journey with mental health. His kindness, empathy, and willingness to connect with each of our clients created a safe and supportive space for sharing experiences and stories of recovery. Thank you, Troy, for your inspiring words and for making a lasting impact on our community. Our Columbus team is representing Leora at the IMPACT Community Action: BEAT THE HEAT event today! The goal of this event is to raise awareness of the growing number of impoverished people in our community, provide community-based resources and to provide information about the new changes of their Summer Crisis Program while giving back to the community that we serve. ?? Juneteenth is a significant holiday for clients in an outpatient substance use and mental health treatment program as it marks the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates the resilience and cultural heritage of Black Americans. Recognizing Juneteenth provides validation of the Black experience and fosters a sense of community and belonging, crucial for mental health and recovery. It serves as a powerful symbol of resilience and empowerment, inspiring clients to persevere in their personal struggles. For non-Black clients, learning about Juneteenth promotes cultural competence and empathy, enhancing the program's inclusivity and support. The holiday underscores the ongoing struggle for justice and equality, encouraging advocacy and integrating historical awareness into therapy, which is essential for holistic healing. Celebrating Juneteenth helps clients understand the impact of historical and societal factors on their mental health and substance use, making it an integral part of their recovery journey.

At Leora, we are more than just a team; we’re a family. One of our dedicated teammates, Joshua Clemons, and his family are facing an extremely difficult time as his wife undergoes cancer treatment. Joshua has been a beacon of hope and support within our community, tirelessly advocating for mental health and recovery… all while leaning on his faith. We’ve set up a Meal Train to help ease the burden on his family during this difficult time. If you can, please consider contributing a meal or donating to help ensure Joshua can focus on his family’s needs. Sharing this post can also do a world of good. Your kindness and generosity will make a world of difference. ?? Thank you so much! https://lnkd.in/gm_7_W-j

LGBTQ+ individuals are more likely to experience mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), LGBTQ+ adults are more than twice as likely as heterosexual adults to experience a mental health condition. Hope is a powerful thing. No matter what challenges you face, there is always a path to recovery and a future filled with hope and possibilities. HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!
