This week's #WOWWednesday is Monica Dacko, Facilities Operations Technician III. Monica has been with the County for nearly a year, and in that time she has taken the lead on an evolving adjustment to the Work Order system to monitor, analyze, and manage vendor contracts for custodial services across all County buildings. In short, she is helping to set the consistent and effective standard of "clean" for all County facilities. Monica's favorite aspect of her work with the County is feeling appreciated and supported by other County employees. "We are a small and wholesome community of people," she said. "I enjoy going between all the buildings and becoming familiar with so many corners of our organization." Outside of work, Monica is an avid Minecraft player and spends most weekends playing in creative mode and coding large sections of the map. She also enjoys houseplant shopping and husbandry, baking challenging recipes like Tiramisu or Cheesecake from scratch, and attempting to get outdoors while fighting the temptation of TV and movie streaming platforms that make staying in so easy! Monica, your hard work and dedication have been a great addition to the County. Thank you for all your work!

This week, our #WOWWednesday is Colleen Bostic, a Senior Administrative Associate celebrating 34 years with Leon County this month! In her time as a County employee, Colleen has contributed to many programs and projects, such as enhancing security and facility access, managing parking infrastructure, streamlining records management, updating work order processes, training staff, and so much more. "If there’s a process, system, or question, I’m happy to help!" she said. Colleen has previously served on the Leon County Safety Committee and is also a certified Florida State Notary. Her favorite part about working at Leon County is her co-workers, who are like family, and the work she gets to do with other agencies in Leon County. "If you’ve ever stepped into a County building, Colleen has helped keep it running. From HR processes to maintenance requests and security systems to record management, she’s made County operations more efficient, safe, and accessible," said Operations Specialist Christina Roach. Outside of work, Colleen enjoys taking jeep rides and weekend trips with her daughter Caitlin. She loves visiting family and friends, reading, watching movies, walking with her rescue dog, Wagner. Thank you so much, Colleen, for your tremendous years of service and heartfelt dedication to your work!
