Did you know America has a truck parking crisis? Every day, truck drivers face the growing challenge of finding safe, reliable parking. With over 3.5 million truck drivers in the U.S. and only 313,000 available parking spaces nationwide. That is only 1 authorized parking space for every 11 professional truck drivers on the road today. The gap is clear, and the impact is significant. ? Safety Risks: Drivers are forced to park in unsafe or unauthorized areas. ? Lost Productivity: Hours are wasted searching for parking, cutting into delivery schedules and increasing freight and logistics costs. ? Driver Well-Being: Lack of rest and proper facilities affects health and morale. At Leonard's, we recognize that solving this crisis requires collaboration. We’re advocating for investment in more truck parking infrastructure (the Truck Parking Safety Improvement Act - a bipartisan bill in Congress would dedicate $755 million specifically for truck parking projects nationwide), technology-driven solutions for real-time parking availability, and industry partnerships to maximize existing resources. Drivers are the backbone of the supply chain. It’s time we prioritize their needs. How is your organization addressing this issue? Let’s work together to find solutions! Leonard's Express Annual #PinkOut! To raise awareness for #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, every year we hold a pink-out contest throughout all of our terminals and vote on who was most dedicated to their pink ensembles. Voting is separated into two categories, Best Pinked-Out Individual and Best Pinked-Out Group. This year, our VP of Business Development, Troy Wiitanen, held his own and won best individual. For Best Group, our Idaho office was this year's pink-out champion! We have so much fun with this contest each year, but more importantly, Pink-Out reminds us to do our due diligence in raising awareness for breast cancer, encouraging early detection, and keeping the conversation around healthcare funding, insurance coverage, and patient rights active in the public discourse. If you're located in the Greater Rochester area and interested in participating in fundraising for breast cancer research and support, please visit the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester website linked below to learn more. https://lnkd.in/g_YaVudy #PinkOut #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth

Our innovation efforts are continuously modernizing to better serve our food-grade customers. Even through challenging economic times, we have adopted new AI technology in our entire fleet to make better routing decisions, continued an assertive trade cycle on our equipment resulting in reliable and safe capacity, and built a state-of-the-art refrigerated facility providing the ability to efficiently store and re-distribute food shippers products. Progress is impossible without change! Food Shippers of America #TopFoodChainProvider #FoodShippers

Leonard's Express has been named a 2024 Top Food Chain Provider by Food Chain Digest, the official magazine of Food Shippers of America! For the second year in a row, we were named to the prestigious list of 25 companies for delivering outstanding service to food shippers. To be eligible for the Top Food Chain Provider award, companies must successfully complete a rigorous nomination process that includes demonstrating how their service or product solves a business problem for food shippers. We are honored to achieve this status once again because we work very hard to continuously modernize our fleet. Whether it be through the i-bright technology we use in refrigerated trailers to ensure temperature integrity, our assertive trade cycle on our equipment to ensure reliable and safe capacity, or most recently, our implementation of Optimal Dynamics, an AI-based load acceptance and dispatch optimization software, to make better routing decisions, we are always looking towards the horizon to better serve our customers and advance the trucking industry further. This morning, Leonard's Express proudly set up shop as a vendor at the Career Carnival at the Wayne County Fairgrounds! Exposing young people to a career in trucking is important for several reasons, both for the individual’s personal development and the long-term sustainability of the trucking industry. Here's how: 1. Offers Stable and Well-Paying Careers Trucking is a stable industry that plays a crucial role in the economy. For young people seeking job security and competitive wages, trucking offers a long-term career path with consistent demand. 2. Encourages Independence and Responsibility Trucking offers a unique sense of independence that appeals to young individuals who prefer working autonomously and exploring different parts of the country. This independence can be attractive to those who value freedom and self-reliance. 3. Provides a Sense of Adventure For young people with a passion for travel and exploration, trucking offers a chance to experience different cities, landscapes, and cultures. This aspect of the career can be a strong selling point for adventurous personalities. Trucking also provides an alternative to desk jobs and offers a dynamic and varied daily experience, which may appeal to those seeking to avoid traditional 9-to-5 jobs. 4. Promotes Vocational Training and Alternative Career Paths Not every young person is suited for or interested in a college education. Trucking offers an alternative career path for those looking to start working and earning income earlier, while still developing valuable skills. 5. Career Mobility and Advancement Starting as a truck driver can lead to numerous other career paths within the logistics and transportation industry, such as fleet management, logistics planning, and even entrepreneurship. Exposing young people to trucking gives them insight into a field that offers multiple pathways for career advancement. 6. Close the Generation Gap in the Industry The trucking industry tends to have an older workforce. By attracting younger people and diversifying the workforce, the industry can benefit from fresh perspectives, energy, and the infusion of new technology-savvy workers. 7. Break Down Misconceptions Many young people may have outdated or negative perceptions of trucking, seeing it as a low-skilled or undesirable job. Early exposure can break down these misconceptions by highlighting the professionalism, technology, and opportunities available in the industry.
