When Foxtrot's abrupt closure last month left many emerging food and beverage brands with a lot of excess inventory and nowhere to sell it, Misfits Market wanted to help. The online grocer announced this week it tapped into its partnership with Pod Foods to scoop up 95% of the the distributor's Foxtrot-bound products to begin selling on its marketplace, and I spoke to Misfits Market's Kelly Nigh and Jessie Kimsey about the quick moves they made to give those extra products a home. #foxtrot #foodandbeverage #retail #CPG

Lucky #7…. Last week we hosted our 7th Breakroom Innovations Event at Canteen Houston! To say that I feel “lucky” would be an understatement. 2 years ago, our local team agreed to host an Innovations Event. We toured clients through our new state-of-the-art warehouse and showcased the latest innovations in our industry. We had the support of 11 supplier partners who traveled in to represent their unique brands in various categories: -new coffee technology -locally roasted coffee -specialty vending -healthy grab n go snacks The event was a success! The Canteen family sure felt “lucky” to have had a great turnout. ? Since then, we have hosted the Innovations Event quarterly. The supplier participation has tripled,?technology has continued to evolve and the client engagement level is off the charts. Thank you to all who have participated. The countdown to Expo West 2025 starts now!
Expo West lived up to the hype! For one day only Leisure Hydration popped up with our friends at BRUTAL for a few hours of brutally delicious snacks and hydrating sips. Being able to meet so many of our supporters for the first time IRL meant the world and it was great to meet so many more new super fans, buyers, and partners. A non-extensive list of top memories - Finding out we're the hangover cure of choice for another food brand's field sales manager and her entire friend group that live in San Francisco. - Running into fellow Demon Deacons William Hayden Jesse Konig ?? - Getting a shoutout in Rachel Mansfield's trends to watch Expo West recap - A buyer for a major retailer on our hit-list that did a double take walking by our shipper display and ended up chatting with us for 20 minutes to learn more about the brand. Nice work Alex Adam - Getting a chance to try the latest Ice Cream from Alec Jaffe and cookies from the incomparable Lex Evan? and Brittney Cook. Savory bites from Gaby Macias, Sauciness from Troy Bonde Winston Alfieri Camryn Frederickson, and tbh I'm not a plant based food guy but the spam from Omni is really damn good.
