At the 5th Global #FutureCem Conference in Istanbul, organised by Global Cement, Aidan McGuinness, Business Development Manager (EMEA) at Leilac, presented how Leilac’s flexible technology can support the #decarbonisation of the cement industry. In his presentation, Aidan talked about Leilac’s ability to adapt to the evolving needs of the sector, focusing on two key areas: - Calcining Clay & #Cement Meal: A Leilac module is designed to calcine cement meal, but as demand for clinker reduces, or in advance of CO? infrastructure being built out, it can also be used to calcine clays. - Energy Flexibility: Leilac’s Hybrid Fuel technology is designed to allow flexible use of electrical energy and alternative fuels, enabling the technology to reduce energy costs and to potentially provide a grid stabilising demand-side response during times of renewable energy over-supply. By providing #fuel and process #flexibility, Leilac aims to help the cement industry future-proof its production in the evolving energy landscape.
