Lehigh Valley Style magazine seeks a dynamic Editor to create content that engages our vibrant community! The Editor is responsible for the development of all print and digital content for the magazine and its website. This includes developing article and feature ideas, writing, editing, and coordinating with freelance writers and photographers. The editor also collaborates with graphic designers to ensure a visually appealing end product and manages all aspects of the publication’s content. This is a full-time hybrid position that includes in-office hours, remote work and on-site photo shoots and interviews. Key Responsibilities: Concept, write, edit, and develop story ideas for monthly print magazine and website content. ·???????Cultivate relationships with freelance writers and photographers as well as notable community members. ·???????Assign contracts and oversee deadlines while managing editorial budget and expenses. Draft monthly storyboards and an annual editorial calendar, overseeing all content planning. ·???????Diligently track timely and relevant stories for print and digital coverage. Edit all copy for organization, readability, voice, style and accuracy. Proofread articles to maintain high-quality standards, providing feedback via Adobe. ·???????Oversee production schedule, acting as liaison between freelance team and design department to ensure all materials are submitted on time. Collaborate with graphic designers to produce visually engaging layouts that align with the magazine’s brand. Assist marketing, sales and creative services with promotional copy as needed. Prepare all print content for online publishing with SEO best practices in mind. Create unique digital content for the website on a weekly basis including “things to do in the region”. Organize photo shoots and provide art direction as needed. ·???????Present editorial plans at monthly team meetings. Represent the magazine at non-profit events and in the community at large. Supervise editorial and photo interns, providing guidance and support. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communication, or English. Excellent grasp of grammar and strong writing and proofreading skills. Ability to concept and produce unique editorial. Proven ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining accuracy and meeting strict deadlines. Strong communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, vendors, and the local business community. Experience working in a deadline-oriented environment.
