In honor of Women’s History Month, we’re sharing stories of women at L&P who have improved our products and processes with their creativity and leadership. We’d like to recognize Cindy Morrison, Operations Manager! In 1977, Cindy began working in the Accounting Department of MPI, which was a private flooring company acquired by L&P in 1986. During the acquisition, she became an operations manager. Throughout her 48 years at L&P, Cindy has been a team leader and strategic thinker, working with diverse groups to ensure our processes and policies work best for our business, colleagues, and customers. She oversees operations for 12 branches within our Flooring Products business, leading teams for logistics, data control, customer service, and special projects. This International Women’s Month, we are spotlighting some of our fantastic employees! As a Trainee in Production with two years at PHPL, G Anu Priya is driven by continuous learning, mentorship, and opportunities for professional growth. She believes that workplaces can better support women by offering flexibility in working hours and strong support from leadership, as well as providing training and development programs to enhance skills and career progression. Throughout her journey, her mentors and managers have played a vital role in guiding and equipping her with valuable knowledge and expertise in production. This support has helped her build confidence and excel in the hydraulics industry. One of her proudest moments was successfully participating in the CII industry visit, which significantly boosted her self-confidence and professional growth. This International Women’s Month, we are proud to spotlight some of our incredible employees who are making a difference at Leggett & Platt Aerospace. Meet Annie Ellis-Lee, a Quality Engineer at Leggett & Platt Aerospace’s Dunstable, UK branch, whose dedication to product safety and passion for problem-solving make a lasting impact every day. “The most rewarding part of my job is knowing that my efforts contribute to creating a safe product. I love learning and sharing knowledge, knowing that someone else may gain something valuable from me.” Annie’s journey from automotive to aerospace was driven by her desire to tackle complex challenges in a highly regulated industry. A key moment in her career was the opportunity to work with her first female manager in manufacturing, making her move to Leggett & Platt even more meaningful. Her advice to women pursuing engineering is to, “DO IT! Believe in yourself, be confident, and don’t give up. She finds inspiration in making a meaningful impact, continuously learning, and being part of a supportive work environment—all of which fuel her motivation to succeed. Her journey has not been without challenges. After taking a career break to care for her newborn, Anitha faced the task of balancing professional and personal responsibilities, adapting to a new routine, and rebuilding her professional network. Through resilience and determination, she overcame these obstacles and found her footing once again. When it comes to empowering women in the workplace, Anitha believes in fostering a culture where women can set boundaries without guilt and seek support when needed, ensuring a healthier work-life balance. Today is International Women’s Day, a day to recognize and honor the women at Leggett & Platt and around the world. This year’s global theme is “accelerate action.” Accelerate action emphasizes the importance of working decisively toward equality. At the current rate, it will take until 2158 to reach full gender parity. Leggett & Platt is accelerating action through W:ISE, which was founded in 2022. Since then, membership has grown to more than 200 people from 10 countries. W:ISE has hosted guest speakers, coordinated company-wide networking events, and created a mentorship program called Circles. We admire and appreciate all women who enrich our company through their hard work and leadership. And, for every employee who has served as a partner, ally, and advocate for gender equality, we are grateful for you. Happy International Women's Day!
