The Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York (LASNNY) fights for fairness, dignity, and justice for those living in poverty and for a society which is inclusive and equitable for all. We transform lives, build community and empower people by using the law to address individual and systemic wrongs and inequities. With offices in Albany, Saratoga, Amsterdam, Gloversville, Canton, and Plattsburgh, LASNNY provides free civil legal services to low-income individuals and vulnerable families in the 16 counties of Northeastern New York, from the Catskills to the Canadian Border.

Hacker Murphy, LLP is a proud supporter of the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York (LASNNY). LASNNY serves 16 counties with 5 offices and 106 staff. They are one of the biggest providers of low income, free, legal services in the United States and the biggest provider in the entirety of Upstate New York. They are an invaluable resource for our community. James E. Hacker, managing partner of Hacker Murphy, LLP, is the sitting President of the Board of Trustees of LASNNY. Partners James E. Hacker, John Harwick, and David Iversen attended LASNNY's first inaugural golf classic this past Monday where John Harwick easily beat out the field to win the longest drive contest. Civil legal services are only funded to meet about 20% of the need nationwide - fundraisers for organizations like LASNNY allow them to provide invaluable legal services to people who would otherwise go without.
