Our Home Preservation Project team has had a busy month so far. Not only are they fielding cases and working with clients, they are also giving presentations and helping those who appear for hearings in JP court. They worked with community partners including Urbandale United to discuss estate planning and with Metrocrest Services, which is hosting several “Know Your Rights” presentations, including expunctions/nondisclosures and landlord/tenant issues. HPP also works onsite at Dallas County Justice Court, taking applications and representing clients in eviction hearings. Great job, HPP!

Our annual Women’s Advocacy Awards event not only benefits clients but also provides the opportunity to honor those whose leadership makes a difference in the lives of others. For the ninth year, the L. Clifford Davis Legal Association and LANWT are partnering to hold a free legal clinic on April 12 to help those with Tarrant County criminal records clear eligible charges. This in-person clinic runs 9 am to 1 pm at the W.M. McDonald YMCA, Fort Worth. Clinic applicants must bring the intake questionnaire and financial statement found at https://lnkd.in/g--7JtCP. Applicants who prefer to apply online must complete the forms found at https://lnkd.in/g--7JtCP. Online applications will be accepted only on April 12 & 13.
