McKnight's Tech Award Winner, 2021 Legacy Healthcare Services provides Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech/Language Pathology, and Wellness services solely to the senior population in Skilled Nursing Facilities, CCRCs, free-standing Assisted Living, and Independent Living Communities. Our corporate offices are located in Raleigh, North Carolina, and we’re providing services in 16 states and D.C. We provide services under contract arrangement at skilled nursing facilities and CCRCs and in our numerous Medicare certified out-patient clinics located within Assisted Living and Independent Living Communities. Therapeutic techniques and programs incorporate principles of rehabilitation and healthy aging, emphasizing home and community independence. Our services are both rehabilitative and preventative with a strong component of health and fitness education. Legacy has a variety of clinical programs aimed at ensuring that the seniors we serve are provided with every opportunity to live their best life. We are experts in every aspect of skilled therapy care provided to the rehab patients during their SNF Part A stay. Additionally, we know that an on-site therapy clinic based in Assisted and Independent Living communities will benefit the residents of those communities. By creating an environment of familiarity and trust, our therapists are well positioned to identify subtle changes in independence. Left unaddressed, these changes may be the tipping point for reduced mobility, advancing isolation, and premature aging. The on-site therapist can recommend after therapy care options that are available through on-site wellness and activity program(s) and monitor their progress in those activities, offering the best assurance that they will maintain their improved status. On Sunday, November 3, 2024, Legacy Healthcare Services had the honor of supporting veterans, residents, and employees of Magnolia Glen - A Kisco Senior Living Community Community while participating in the City of Oaks Marathon to raise money for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Andrew Caruana and Allison Pait of Kisco Senior Living ran the marathon and pushed 4 veterans with them (Ted Chappell, John Ashley Robertson, Tom Hitchcock, and Ed Helmy) along the course. At each checkpoint, LHS Occupational Therapists, Brooke Shaefer and Lainey Chiarizia ensured each veteran was transferred into and out of the race buggy with “purpose, safety and joy”! We are humbled to have been asked to participate in such an event bringing awareness to an amazing foundation and hearing our veterans' stories that shed light on the incredible service they provided to our country. Happy Veterans Day!
