Who watched the Academy Awards Sunday night? 🏆 The speeches, the snubs, the fashion! Of course we enjoyed all of that, but as event producers, we were also fascinated by the staging, lights, photo backdrops, run of show, and technical choices. 🎬 For us, highlights included: Ben Stiller’s bit announcing the Best Production Design award. Since we are producers, designers, and fans of Ben Stiller, this resonated. The opening Wicked/Wiz musical medley (and costumes) were a wow. The LA firefighters & first responders tribute tugged at the heartstrings and the funny bones, as they read off a few of the jokes Conan found “too controversial” to deliver himself. We appreciate how this landed (and connected) authentically and emotionally. 🎭 📽 Whether you were Pro-Demi or Pro-Mikey, this year’s Oscars had something for everyone. What were your favorite moments overall, and for the Event Producers and Brand Experience experts, what did you notice in terms of the entire production? What stood out? How did brands show up?
