In hospice care, it’s not just about providing medical support—it’s about showing compassion, dedication, and going the extra mile, especially in the toughest times. Recently, one of our incredible nurses, Wayne, did just that. As winter storms brought dangerous conditions, Wayne stayed close to his patients in a rural area, proactively ensuring he could provide immediate care if needed. Wayne was scheduled to see one of his patients that day, but he went above and beyond. He arrived an hour early—not just for the visit, but to shovel her driveway—ensuring her father, who’s recovering from a stroke, wouldn’t have to face the dangerous conditions. For this selfless act and for going above and beyond every day, Wayne Farley is the well-deserved recipient of the Legacy Torch this month.
