This Veteran's Day, Leeward Renewable Energy (LRE) proudly honors all veterans and their families who have served our nation with pride and dedication. LRE is committed to supporting veterans and their well-being in several ways. We've partnered with?Ohio-based ABC Honey?to support their Heroes and Hives program. This unique initiative uses beekeeping, a recognized PTSD therapy, to support veterans and first responders. Participants receive training in beekeeping along with a fully furnished beehive. The program organizer, Ohio’s ABC Honey, provides and manages 36 bee hives at our Big Plain Solar facility in Madison County, Ohio. ABC Honey’s owner Travis Snyder is an Ohio native and veteran who served in Afghanistan. LRE also supports veterans through the?Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), which offers programs to honor and empower wounded veterans. For the past two years, LRE employees from across several states have participated in the Carry Forward 5K, a walk, jog, or run event to raise funds for wounded warriors.? LRE is honored to support programs that foster both healing and sustainability while making a positive impact on our veterans and first responders. We salute you and thank you for your service.??? #VeteransDay??#WoundedWarriorProject
