This cherished annual tradition invites our community to come together and celebrate the season with timeless carols, festive melodies, and a heartwarming candlelight finale. We're beyond proud to announce that three of Lee University’s Helen DeVos College of Education alumni have been honored as recipients of the inaugural Novice Tennessee Teacher of the Year Award!?This award honors only ten educators statewide. ? Congratulations to Kari Ormsby Mays, Lindsey Scott, and Jordan Wagers for being recognized among the best young educators in the state. These exceptional teachers are making a profound impact on their students and communities.? ? This recognition highlights the dedication of our graduates and the ongoing work of our outstanding faculty in preparing future educators. Esmerelda Lee exemplifies Christian scholarship, service, and vocation while also serving as a leader, mentor, friend, and caregiver, demonstrating Christ's love by integrating her faith into both her personal and professional life. Originally from Durbin, South Africa, Lee came to Lee University with $200 in her pocket, yet graduated completely debt-free. Her incredible work ethic and desire for excellence continue to this day in service and care for the most vulnerable community of people. Lee’s professional career includes serving as Executive Director for Life Care Center of Missionary Ridge and Cleveland before accepting the role of Campus Manager of Garden Plaza. She joined Enlivant as Regional Vice President of Operations in 2017 and was promoted to Vice President of Operations in 2018. Since 2019, Lee has served as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Century Park Associates, which operates more than 40 independent and assisted living communities in 20 states. Lee has served with the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Rotary Club of Cleveland, United Way of the Ocoee Region Board of Directors, the Governor’s Board for Tennessee Centers for Rehabilitation, Argentum Women in Leadership, and the National Center for Assisted Living Board of Directors.
