Our Dallas office celebrated the season by taking a ride on the McKinney Avenue Trolley and a brief tour of the Car Barn where they repair and restore historic trolley cars for their line. We would like to thank Co-founder and Chairman Phil Cobb for being such a gracious host. The McKinney Avenue Trolley celebrated its 35th Birthday in 2024. Several Lee employees traveled to Houston last week to join over 800 public and private sector professionals at the 2024 ITS Texas/TexITE Joint Meeting. Everyone enjoyed catching up with old colleagues and meeting new ones. Topics included the latest in traffic safety, big data, and signal operations. There was also much to hear about how AI is being leveraged now and in the future and how autonomous vehicles may impact the industry and people’s lives. The Young Professional Town Hall, where Alexandra participated as a panel member, generated some worthwhile discussions and received positive feedback to kickstart the introduction of this group to involve the next generations in keeping the future vibrant and growing. Lee Engineering had an amazing time at the Annual Meeting of the Intelligent Transportation Society (ITS) of New Mexico (10/16-10/17)! The event focused on the theme “Investing in Safety” and featured thought-provoking discussions on advancements in transportation technology. Our very own Principal, Paul Barricklow, led a panel on progress toward Vision Zero—an inspiring conversation on creating safer roadways for all. The team attended discussions on ITS innovations in public safety, autonomous vehicles, fleet electrification, and more. With 27 years of experience in traffic engineering, Mike brings expertise in traffic operations, signal timing, traffic impact studies, traffic simulation, and traffic analysis in Texas and across the U.S. Jody Short, PE, PTOE, President of Lee Engineering, shared, “Mike's extensive experience and industry knowledge will significantly enhance our traffic operations and design practice.
