We're excited to share that the Walker Hall Graduate Student Center at University of California, Davis is a recipient of the 2025 Preservation Design Award for Rehabilitation from the California Preservation Foundation!? https://lnkd.in/gZS7-iNk The project transformed a vacant, seismically unsafe agricultural engineering building built in 1927 into a 34,000-square-foot Graduate Student center shaped by an inclusive and equitable programming process and focused on welcome and belonging. It coalesces history and community at a hub of university life as interactive academic environments advance learning outcomes and facilitate student collaboration. Rendering to Reality | Take a look inside at the central stair of the new California Street Campus for University High School which is underway and taking shape! A leader in secondary education in the Bay Area, this will be the school’s first ground-up project and allow the institution to expand and reorganize their existing four building campus. Targeting Net-Zero Energy, the new school building replaces an outdated 1940s-era strip mall. The building will add density to an underused site, provide a public face for the campus on a transit-rich, mixed-use street, and enrich the public life of the block. Yesterday, LMSA visited the Parnassus Central Campus Site Improvements (PCCSI) project underway at the University of California, San Francisco and had a fun happy hour after — scroll for a few highlights from the site visit! PCCSI will create a new, welcoming “heart of campus” open space and invite pedestrian connections. Check out progress at Power Station Block 7B where the Sophie Maxwell Building is under construction. Located in San Francisco’s Dogpatch neighborhood, the mixed-use 82,000 sf project will feature 105 affordable apartments and ground floor retail, drawing inspiration from the industrial quality of the historic site. Block 7B is part of the larger Potrero Power Station Mixed-Use Project, which will transform the 29-acre site of a decommissioned power station into a vibrant waterfront community. “At Block 7B, exterior sheathing, waterproofing, and roofing are complete. Interior work is advancing, with framing through Level 7, taping and drywall on Level 2, and elevator construction underway. We're excited to share that 3135 San Pablo is an Oakland 2024-2025 New Construction Notice of Funding Availability?(NOFA) / Measure U Awardee and has received $10.5M in funding from the City of Oakland! The project is one of five?permanently affordable housing developments to have received funding. St. Mary's Center, a 50-year-old community of hope, healing and justice, and Satellite Affordable Housing Associates (SAHA) have partnered to create housing in West Oakland for seniors who have experienced homelessness.?The overall goal for the new development is to create a sustainable community asset that provides quality permanent supportive housing to formerly homeless and very low income seniors and contributes to the San Pablo Corridor neighborhood of West Oakland. The project will include a mix of 72 studio and one-bedroom units, a podium courtyard, and resident-serving common areas and offices.?The building will be all electric, is pursuing Greenpoint Rated Gold, and exploring ways in which the community room can act as a resiliency hub for the residents. https://lnkd.in/g2Zutstm #leddymaytumstacy #affordablehousing #oakland

The Parnassus Central Campus Site Improvements (PCCSI) project at the University of California, San Francisco will create a new, welcoming "heart of campus" open space, and invite pedestrian connections. The #designbuild project will build upon UCSF's vision of the Comprehensive Parnassus Heights Plan by improving the central core of the campus in three distinct areas: - Extending utility infrastructure to support future development, improve energy efficiency, and emphasis on UCSF's fossil-fuel-free initiatives. - Seismic compliance with UCOP Policy: decanting and demolition of the School of Nursing building. - Creation of pedestrian connections to the campus heart by enhancing public outdoor space and providing opportunities in unique open areas to connect, pause, sit, and interact. The new corridor will be publicly available and improve pedestrian circulation, bridging the west end of campus and the campus heart.
