Last week, LEAVEN volunteers, board members, and staff gathered for our annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. This year’s event was held at the DoubleTree hotel in Appleton with the theme 'An Evening in Paris'. The evening concluded with honoring the 2024 LEAVEN Volunteer of the Year, Mary Zanto. We want to extend a massive thank you to all of our wonderful LEAVEN volunteers and to Fox Communities Credit Union and Thrivent for sponsoring our 2024 Volunteer Appreciation Dinner.

Since opening its doors over 35 years ago, LEAVEN has served as a beacon of hope for folks seeking emergency assistance. How do we do that? LEAVEN provides limited financial assistance to people who are struggling to meet their basic needs and have nowhere else to turn for help. We help with basic human needs, like helping people stay in their homes or apartments. We offer assistance with rent, mortgage, and security deposits. We ensure sure gas, electric, or water services are not shut off or we help get them reconnected. We also provide gas cards, bus passes, diapers, toiletries, and vouchers for clothing. On top of that, we connect people to other resources in the community through referrals so folks can get the support they need.
