Strengthening family-school engagement to boost attendance is achievable with concerted action from districts, schools, and families. Here are three steps schools and districts can take to strengthen partnerships with families: 1. Incorporate family engagement into a district-level academic strategy. 2. Ensure that family engagement efforts focus attention on the benefits and opportunities of showing up to school consistently. 3. Partner with community agencies to offer supports that address barriers to attendance. Learn more on how educators and families can work together in combating #chronicabsenteeism in a new blog authored by Hedy Chang, Bibb Hubbard, Todd Rogers, and #RalphSmith. https://lnkd.in/eAPeB9_9

We’re excited to announce that Learning Heroes (US) and over 30 organizations have come together to address a critical challenge facing the Universal Service Fund (USF). By joining forces, we believe we can amplify our collective impact and build a stronger, more sustainable movement. Our approach is multifaceted, building on the strength of our existing coalitions while encouraging other organizations to join us and ensure the continued support of Universal Service Funds. This effort will require bipartisan collaboration and a wide range of actions—from submitting judicial amici briefs to mobilizing grassroots support and organizing effective communications. By pooling our resources, expertise, and influence, we can achieve a more significant, long-term solution to the recent misguided court decision threatening the USF Program. We need your support to make this vision a reality. Here’s how you can help: Join the Movement – Add your voice and help us grow the champions of this cause. https://lnkd.in/g53hNTXA Together, we can ensure the continued success and sustainability of the USF. Let’s act now to safeguard this vital resource for communities across the country.
