Learn Fresh Regional Outreach Coordinator, Angeline Kamara, recently attended the Latinos in Sports conference in NYC. In her own words: "There was a lot of sazón in the room! I learned about people's cultural backgrounds and their journeys in sports. We also dived into research on demographic trends impacting the different leagues. A special highlight was 8x All-Star Wold Champion, Pedro Martinez, sharing his story about his roots in Republica Dominicana and the support he received from his parents. There was a panel featuring Rita Ferro, Iris Diaz, and Liz Monta?o who spoke about their career paths and the importance of brand marketing. I was inspired by their messages about breaking generational curses and creating room for the next person to make an impact in the Latin community. I'm looking forward to more events in the future and to building relationships with these change-makers!"
