I'm putting on my final touches for the webinar I'm running this Thursday with AMA - Boston American Marketing Association and wanted to share one resource I'll be talking about: QBRs. I used to think these were busywork projects. Quarterly Business Reviews kinda feel like a report card, "Timmy is doing well, no changes, he still hates naptime." However, after talking with multiple businesses that work with agencies, it's clear that businesses often "forget" about what their agency is doing for them. Sure, a client may have a vague sense of what's going on, but it's sometimes hard for a client point-of-contact to explain how well or poorly their agency is performing to internal stakeholders. Those internal stakeholders are most likely the ones who will sign off on your renewal: what do you want them to think? With the end of the year looming, starting QBRs now is easier than ever: create a simple deck, add in the most important goals from the contract, and give a one-slide summary of how things are going. QBRs are part of my bigger section on Pre-Mortems, or a proactive business strategy to get AHEAD of problems instead of STEAMROLLED by them. Make sure to join me on Thursday at 12pm EST for free to learn about this communication hack and more! Link in the comments ?? #agency #premortems #clientsatisfaction #businesshacks #freeworkshop

Is your marketing agency struggling to keep up with the ever-changing digital landscape? ?? With constant changes in algorithms, technology, and client expectations, it can be tough to keep up. The enduring key to success? Strong communication. ??? When your team communicates effectively, they can: ??Quickly adapt to new challenges ??Generate innovative ideas ??Collaborate seamlessly ??Deliver exceptional client experiences Want to learn how to build a more communicative and adaptable team? ?? Start with some vulnerability: "Hi everyone, it's me, your boss. I know we've been friends and colleagues for a while, but I've been reflecting on our work and a vision for the future, and I'd like to start a conversation on something that has been on my mind lately. I'm wondering if we can be better communicators. This isn't to say that anyone here is a BAD communicator, though I'm sure I can claim some of that credit. But what if we were a little better? What would that look like to you? Is this something you'd like us to work on here at this company?" #marketingagency #communication #adaptability #teamwork #learntoscale

Raise your hand if you're tired of chasing low-value clients! ??♀???♂? Chasing prospects or upselling clients who aren't the right fit is like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole - frustrating and ultimately fruitless. They drain your energy, resources, and creativity. Instead of chasing, focus on attracting prospects who value your expertise and are ready to invest in your agency's growth. Focus on nurturing clients who want to grow. For us, we try to stay aware of "commission breath," or the overly-salesy approach to winning new business. There's a very fine line between chasing a client and aggressively sharing an opportunity and it comes down to whether you've really done your homework in VISUALIZING their problem from their perspective. ? Continually pushing a sale that you think they need but they don't think they need: commission breath. ?? Continually reminding a prospect what their pain is in their own words, the long-term consquences of that pain, and how you would solve that pain for them: empathy. See also: Challenger Sales methodology. What are your go-to strategies to identify, attract, and retain high-value clients? Share in the comment. #marketingtips #salesstrategy #smallbusiness #marketingagency
