Kudos to Bolingbrook Rotary Club on hosting a fantastic event last night at your MiniGolf “Fun Raiser” at Wilderness Falls. This annual MiniGolf Fundraiser is where friends and families come out to enjoy an evening of minigolf followed by a casual dinner. Funds raised at this event are earmarked for scholarships & literacy projects within Bolingbrook as well as other local Rotary Club projects. I had a ball and even made a few holes in one ??with the Park District Committee. Supporting local events matter and make us stronger as a community. I’ll definitely be back next year! Recently, I had a conversation with someone about their desire to be more productive and achieve their personal goals. I then asked a simple question, “how do you spend your time”? After a few minutes of talking it became apparent that the biggest obstacle they needed to overcome was understanding time management. Whether we realize it or not, this is a huge barrier for a lot of people and can make or break your success in navigating the facets of life. All too often you hear people say there’s just not enough time to complete this or that and you only have 24 hours in a day. For someone that struggles with balancing time, this is a safe approach. On the other hand, for people who understand how to use time effectively see the same 24 hours as 1,440 minutes, and this approach provides a framework for accomplishing their daily tasks, this is a smart approach. In order to accomplish your goals you must understand the true value of time and how to use it your advantage. It’s easy to count time vs. making time count. Here are six quick tips for effective time management: ??Evaluate your goals & objectives ??Prioritize and rank their importance ??Plan out your daily tasks & routines ??Use a weekly checklist and planner ??Reflect on your progress daily ??Hold yourself accountable It comes down to this, until you understand where your time is going, you will always be short of it. This year marked the 10th anniversary for the Village coming together to celebrate this federal holiday commemorating Emancipation Day for enslaved African Americans on June 19, 1865.
