The service line coordinators (SLCs) at Oregon Health & Science University's Center for Health and Healing had a wealth of expertise to create optimal OR assignments and advance staff development opportunities. But they were spending too much time on staffing assignments because they lacked centralized, digital tools and up-to-date data to streamline the process. ???Empowered by iQueue for Operating Rooms and the single source of truth it provided, OHSU was able to streamline staffing workflows and optimize assignments, saving SLCs an average of 20 hours per week. As a result, SLCs, nurse managers, and charge nurses can now achieve next-level efficiency and reinvest their time into what truly matters: delivering excellent patient care. ?? Operating room efficiency is a key driver of clinical and financial performance in healthcare, with up to 70% of hospital revenue being generated from the OR. However, attempts to drive efficiency often focus on isolated problems and don't address the systemic needs for long-term success. In a recent blog, Director of Product Operations, iQueue for Operating Rooms, Kimberly Hamilton, shares why a holistic approach is crucial for achieving true optimization: "As the healthcare industry evolves and becomes more resilient to change, the time for fragmented solutions is over. A fully integrated approach, backed by AI and robust people-powered support, enables hospitals to realize their OR's full potential." ??
