Cookie Butter- a sweet spread made from ground up cookies. What's not to love? The spread went from being relatively obscure to being the kind of thing pregnant people seek in the middle of the night to satisfy a craving. Based on Google search trend data, searches for Cookie Butter first started climbing in 2011. It's no surprise that this spike correlates with Lotus Biscoff's Cookie Butter spread launch in 2011 and TJ's subsequent Speculoos Cookie Butter launch a year later. Cookie Butter is now being used in a variety of formats, appearing on five different Datassential Menu Adoption Cycles. Since the pandemic, consumers have been seeking classic and nostalgic flavors to remind them of a simpler time-- if only for the few moments it takes them to finish their Island Punch sparkling water.
