Have you seen this FDA recall?? Cannabis businesses always have to submit withdraw and recall procedures but once a recall is involuntary — it’s out of your hands ???? Once a recall is involuntary it could end up with your brand on the FDA website. I’m no PR pro but I don’t think that this classifies as “all publicity is good publicity.” Is this a synthetic component? Yes. But this kind of action doesn’t just apply to synthetics. The same goes for edible products that have ingredients or chemicals that cause harm. This is why QA/QC and accurate testing are IMPERATIVE. I try my best to help clients prepare for oversight that’s even more intense than what they’re used to for “down the road.” But…. It’s not really down the road. As much as everyone likes to dream of the wonders of rescheduling — it comes with a slew of officials and regulators who are excited to elevate and homogenize standards ?? Will your business be able to keep up? Many think the big companies will be all that could wipe them out but it could just be the inability to step up and professionalize. This recall 100% has them (federal regulators and officials) SHOOK and looking forward to how to more vigilantly keep an eye out for health threats with plant medicines as a whole. “As of September 13, 2024, a total of 169 illnesses have been reported from 33 states; 66 have been hospitalized, and there are two potentially associated deaths.” Thoughts?
