It's time to rethink how you're applying Scrum, acknowledge its limitations, and start seeking innovative ways to bridge the gaps. When it was introduced, Scrum provided a clear, structured framework for small, agile teams to collaborate and deliver quickly. Today, companies are attempting to install Scrum in large, complex, interdependent organizations. Scrum was never intended to be applied this way. Here's the reality: Teams often face challenges that can’t be solved within a single sprint or by a single team. When faced with dependencies and external constraints, you wind up with multiple teams working on fragmented pieces that, while individually sound, don’t roll up into a cohesive whole. The result? Scrum practices turn into isolated tasks for the teams that don’t contribute to the broader organizational goals, and often stall before delivering tangible business value. For you to transform your organization, you must look beyond Scrum.
